It is also possible to conduct tests that are part of the standard dermatological program with high academic rigour.
If your name is Dermatest, that is.
The patch test shows any primary irritation or contact dermatitis (by provoking allergic skin reactions in sensitised volunteers).
The test substances are applied most of the time occlusively to the skin, i.e. under closed conditions, in appropriate concentrations. The occlusion is done by means of plaster application. The contact with the test product is therefore localized and temporally limited and is intensified by the occlusal conditions, so that the penetration of the test substances is favored. Depending on the test design, the skin is dermatologically examined at suitable intervals.
A positive response to a correctly applied patch test is evidence of primary irritation by the test substance, but not necessarily as evidence of sensitization.
We have the right test design for every product type.
